The Critical AI Literacy project addresses the need to train students to use generative artificial intelligence (GAI) wisely, critically and ethically in their studies and to transfer these skills to their professional and civic lives.

The project consists of developing and implementing an innovative training course called «Using generative AI for Learning in Higher Education» that is short, flexible, online, multilingual and adaptive. The scientific work will be carried out in collaboration with experts from Swiss universities and highschools, in addition to the project partners. The expected outcome is a permanent course, integrated into the institutions' digital skills training offer, which trains students every semester in the efficient, but also critical, use of the GAI, in their studies and beyond.

The target audience for this project includes both UniDistance Suisse students and doctoral students at Cadi Ayyad University in Marrakech, Morocco (UCA). The course will be openly accessible on the Kaïros platform developed at UniDistance Suisse.

The project is based on collaboration between UniDistance Suisse's Educational Development Unit in Distance Learning (EDUDL+), the Centre d'Innovation Pédagogique (CIP) and the Computer Science department of UCA's Faculty of Science.
