Criminal Liability for Identity Misuse: Inaugural Lecture by Professor Cathrine Konopatsch On 15 December, Cathrine Konopatsch, Professor of Criminal Law at the Faculty of Law of UniDistance Suisse, delivered her inaugural lecture on the occasion of her appointment as Associate Professor. Held on the UniDistance Suisse campus in Brig, her well-founded and engaging lecture addressed the topical issue of identity misuse. She offered a critical assessment of the criminal offence of identity misuse, which entered into force on 1 September 2023 (Art. 179decies of the Swiss Criminal Code), and outlined the resulting implications for criminal legislation and criminal law more broadly.
