How AI is Transforming Mathematics: International Workshop at UniDistance Suisse What happens when formal methods meet artificial intelligence? This question took centre stage at the international workshop “Formalization and Proof Assistants”, held from 25 to 27 March 2026 at UniDistance Suisse and organised by Professor of Mathematics David Loeffler. The event formed part of the “Spring Meetings” of the Swiss Mathematical Society and brought together leading experts from around the world.

SMS Spring Meeting : Formalization and Proof Assistants UniDistance Suisse will be hosting a 3-day workshop (Wednesday 25th-Friday 27th March 2026) on “Formalization and Proof Assistants”. This is combined with the spring meeting of the Swiss Mathematical Society on the afternoon of Friday 27th.

Arithmetic, the common denominator of the Alpine countries Italian, Swiss and Austrian mathematicians gathered at the UniDistance Suisse campus in Brig to present their research in number theory. Arithmetica Transalpina is the name given to this meeting, which was held on 17 October 2025 and organised by Professor David Loeffler. He revealed the benefits of this conference and its everyday applications.

Great Success for the Lego Holiday Course at UniDistance Suisse As part of the Brig District Holiday Pass programme, a highly regarded Lego and programming course for children took place at the end of July on the university campus of UniDistance Suisse. In a playful and inspiring learning environment, the participating children had the opportunity to ac-quire technical know-how and express their creativity freely. The response was overwhelmingly positive – the children were enthusiastic and highly engaged.

L’événement était axé sur la recherche de solutions créatives et l’élaboration collaborative de projets scientifiques innovants autour du thème de la «Computational Reproducibility».

Première sur le campus de Brigue - cours de vacances «Construire et programmer des robots Lego» Cet été, UniDistance Suisse proposera pour la première fois sur son campus de Brigue un cours de vacances pour les écoliers et écolières. Le cours (en allemand) «Lego Roboter bauen und programmieren– Kinder lernen von Kindern!» aura lieu dans le cadre du passeport vacances de Brigue du 21 au 25 juillet et s'adresse aux enfants de 8 à 12 ans. Le cours fait partie de l’offre de services intergénérationnels d’UniDistance Suisse et est proposé par le service «Prestations de services et Alumni».
