Since 1 August 2025, the date of entry into force of the general doctoral regulations, UniDistance Suisse has obtained the right to award doctoral degrees.

Our doctoral candidates benefit from personalised supervision on our Brig Campus, active integration into the Swiss and international scientific community, and access to a dynamic, interdisciplinary research environment.

UniDistance Suisse is a full member of the European University Association Council for Doctoral Education (EUA-CDE) as well as of the PRIDE network (Professionals in Doctoral Education), thereby strengthening its integration into the European higher education and research landscape. It collaborates with the Conférence Universitaire de Suisse Occidentale (CUSO) as well as with several doctoral training networks, offering a broad spectrum of training opportunities to its students.

You can propose a research project even if no specific programme is currently open. Explore our research groups to discover where your scientific interests can flourish.

To apply for a PhD at UniDistance Suisse, please follow the procedure below:

  1. Reach out to a professor for your doctoral project.
  2. Complete the online registration, providing your personal details, qualifications, your supervisor's name, and a brief outline of your planned dissertation topic.
  3. Your application is evaluated by the faculty of interest.
  4. Student Services informs you of the outcome.
  5. If admitted, your enrolment is finalised and you begin your doctoral studies.
