A new book on corporate criminal law and criminal compliance compares the laws of 30 countries. Prof. Dr Cathrine Konopatsch, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law at UniDistance Suisse, is the author of one of the contributions.

Criminal law increasingly functions as a steering instrument of the economy. Companies can be held liable and, in some jurisdictions, “punished”. Criminal compliance is about taking preventive measures within companies to avoid the risk of criminal liability. Repressive criminal compliance, on the other hand, concerns the conduct of companies after a crime has been committed.
