Faced with the rapid rise of generative artificial intelligence in university practices, a training course is being offered to students to support their appropriation of these digital tools. Entitled “Studying at university with (or without) generative AI”, the module aims to go beyond a purely instrumental use of these technologies. It seeks to explain how they work, as well as their limitations and implications, while also developing a critical approach to their use.
Participants are invited to build a critical literacy of generative AI, in order to interact meaningfully with these systems and evaluate their outputs in terms of quality, bias, and ethical, social, and environmental impacts. The training thus encourages the use of AI in a way that supports learning without replacing it.
