The aim of this research project is to characterise the different dimensions of quality distance assessment that preserves and promotes academic integrity in a digital world, and to develop a speculative method to help teaching teams develop quality online assessments.

This research project is strategic for the quality of teaching at UniDistance Suisse. It is in line with the objective described in art. 3 of the UniDistance Suisse Research, Development and Cooperation Fund: «Improving teaching and learning in distance education». It also enables cooperation projects to be developed, with the aim of publishing a scientific article.

The aim is to make an original scientific contribution in the field of distance exams, a challenge in both traditional and distance higher education.  Our objective is to promote academic integrity, while respecting the principles and values of quality teaching and assessment, in a vastly undertheorised field. Our approach generates a characterisation of exams according to different types of criteria.

Results

Based on the results of their collaborative and speculative research work, EDUDL + has designed teaching resources that cover a pedagogical approach to distance assessments in a digital world based on the values of quality and integrity. Such resources are concrete models of quality online examinations and offer a method for designing online assessments that incorporates and anticipates future technological developments.

The pedagogical resource «Designing a Remote Assessment» is now available!
