The research in Prof. Dr Rolf Krause’s group focuses on numerical methods for partial differential equations, finite elements, optimization, advanced machine learning, and scientific software for large scale applications and high-performance computing (HPC).
The research in Prof. Dr Rolf Krause’s group focuses on numerical methods for partial differential equations, finite elements, optimization, advanced machine learning, and scientific software for large scale applications and high-performance computing (HPC). Scientific machine learning on HPC systems has been established as a new direction of research in his group. Application areas are medicine, in particular cardiology; geo-physics and geo-mechanics, including porous media and the modelling of fracture networks; and computational mechanics for non-smooth systems, including friction and contact.
