Research

Research pages can use a higher reading level than the rest of the website.
Content blocks reporting research (e.g. a paper abstract) can bypass the following guidelines, but the rest of the page should respect web writing practices.
- Differences between web and print
  - Structure: no need to respect the page hierarchy within the block; no need to add hyperlinks.
  - Rhythm: no need to alternate different kinds of blocks; no need to make content more dynamic nor visually appealing.
- Tone and clarity
  - Gender-neutral language and inclusive writing, Language register, Writing for translation: no need to adapt content to the specified rules.
- Typography
  - Language varieties: no need to adapt content to the specified varieties.
  - Use of punctuation, Numbers, Capital letters, Abbreviations, Contractions: no need to adapt content to the specified rules.
- Glossary
  - General, Collaborator titles.

Educational resources

Educational resources can use a higher reading level than the rest of the website.

KidsUni and Ferienkurse

KidsUni and Ferienkurse pages should match a lower reading level than the rest of the website. A lower reading level will enable younger users to fully understand content they may be interested in.
In Swiss German: KidsUni and Ferienkurse pages may include region-specific vocabulary (e.g. words related to the cantonal education system) without explanation.
