Located on a modern campus in Brig, UniDistance Suisse, an accredited university institute in accordance with the Swiss Higher Education Act (HEdA), has been offering bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes and further education in the faculties of Law, Psychology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics and History for over 30 years. These programmes meet the highest quality standards and are designed to fit around family life or a professional or sporting career through a flexible distance-learning model. The institute aims to obtain university status in 2027, becoming a Valais university and marking a major milestone in its history.

With over 2,400 students, UniDistance Suisse is the leader of distance higher education in Switzerland. It employs over 450 staff members from Switzerland and abroad, 350 of which are involved in teaching and research activities, and are renouned experts in their field.  

Faculty Services acts as the interface between the faculties, study programmes and other internal academic and administrative services at UniDistance Suisse. Faculty Managers support the smooth operation of faculties and, in collaboration with Deans and programme directors, ensure that teaching and research teams receive adequate support. They play an active role in the development of faculties and their study programmes. Faculty Managers are specialists in their field, who are able to evolve within a university organisation and establish an effective network between the different parties.

To strengthen our Faculty Services team, we are looking for an experienced and committed professional for the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science as:

Faculty Manager for the English-language programmes Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence (80%)

Place of work: Brig, with partial home-office possible
Start of work: 01.07.2025 or as agreed

In the context of the degree programmes to be supported, we prefer applications from people with an excellent knowledge of English. 


Your tasks
  • Act as the permanent interface between the Dean and programme directors, teaching and research teams, and academic and administrative support services.
  • Actively assist and support the programme directors and Dean in the management and development of the faculty and study programmes, and in the implementation of decisions taken by the faculty or the rectorate.
  • Support the redesign and implementation of the Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence programme as Project Manager. 
  • Support teaching teams in matters related to the organisation, implementation, development and improvement of study programmes and services, and contribute to quality assurance processes for study programmes.
  • Be the contact person for professors and lecturers.
  • Provide support in advising students on discipline-related matters.
  • Represent the study programmes within the Faculty Services.
  • Participate in or lead cross-faculty or inter-faculty projects.

Your profile
  • Successful Master's degree in the field of STEM subjects, ideally in mathematics or computer science.
  • Professional experience in a university environment, experience in distance or online teaching is an advantage.
  • Experience in project management would be an advantage.
  • Familiar with digital environments and common IT tools specific to the academic environment.
  • Independent, organized, structured and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Customer-oriented, adaptable and open to new challenges 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative work approach
  • Excellent spoken and written English, as well as a very good knowledge of German or French and a good command of the other language.
