UniDistance Suisse signed a “Memorandum of Understanding” (MoU) with the LINEEX Lab at the University of Valencia (Spain) in May 2026. This new partnership gives doctoral candidates from the Faculty of Economics and Management access to one of Europe’s most advanced research infrastructures for experimental economics.

Access to a Leading Research Infrastructure

The LINEEX Lab (Laboratory for Research in Experimental Economics) features a state-of-the-art experimental laboratory with 74 participant stations, a subject pool comprising several thousand individuals, and extensive expertise in conducting behavioural and decision-making experiments. Researchers use the facility to investigate topics such as cooperation, social preferences and markets.

Thanks to the new agreement, doctoral candidates at UniDistance Suisse will have the opportunity to undertake research stays in Valencia and conduct experiments under professional conditions. At the same time, they will benefit from exchanges with an international network of researchers.

New Opportunities for Early-Career Researchers

The collaboration was initiated by Prof. Dr Manuel Grieder and Prof. Dr Michael Kurschilgen, Professors of Economics at UniDistance Suisse. Its aim is to further enhance research conditions for early-career researchers and strengthen the Faculty’s international connections.

“Access to an established experimental research infrastructure opens up new opportunities for our doctoral candidates to pursue ambitious research projects and gain valuable international research experience,” explains Prof. Dr Michael Kurschilgen.

By signing this “Memorandum of Understanding”, UniDistance Suisse is strengthening its international network while expanding research and training opportunities for its doctoral candidates.
