Around one hundred participants attended the inaugural “Rendez-vous de la formation”, held at the new Noda BCVS venue in Sion. The initiative was launched by Le Nouvelliste and supported by UniDistance Suisse as an academic partner. “We were pleased to support Le Nouvelliste’s initiative, which aims to make the topic of tertiary education more accessible to the wider public,” explained Stéphane Pannatier, Director of Central Services at UniDistance Suisse, at the start of the event.
The programme focused on the question: “Has tertiary education in Valais become more democratic?”
Five experts from the education sector took part in the discussion: Yves Rey, Head of the Cantonal Office for Higher Education, Xavier Gaillard, Rector of the Lycée-Collège des Creusets, Olivier Walther, Director of the Vocational, Commercial and Craft School of Sion, Alexandra Hugo, University of Applied Sciences Professor specialising in Human Resources, and René Graf, Vice-Rector for Teaching at HES-SO.
The next “Rendez-vous de la formation” is already scheduled for 2026 – featuring a new barometer on tertiary education and a meeting that could be further enriched by other partners from the Valais education sector.
