The UniDistance Suisse teaching model allows you to study online without having to work alone. You are supported throughout your studies thanks to regular interactions with other students and your teaching teams, as well as Student Services. You have great flexibility in how you organise your studies, whilst still benefiting from a clear framework to ensure motivation and regular learning.
Studies at UniDistance Suisse involve two types of learning:

On our online learning platform Moodle, you can study when and where you want. You learn the materials before the class sessions. The course content is provided on Moodle in different media and resources: texts, videos, quiz, homework, coursework and more. All of the dates and milestones to be met will be announced at the beginning of the semester. A clear framework is established to help you meet your goals; the flexibility lies in how you organise your learning within this framework. Finally, the forums also provided on Moodle allow you to ask your teaching team questions at any point, receive quick answers, and discuss things with other students.
Support and assistance are provided, in particular via regular class sessions and continuous assessment of knowledge.
The online class sessions (videoconferences on Zoom) offer opportunities to meet up and discuss things with other students and the teaching team. They are held approximately once a month (generally on Saturdays) and ensure regular learning. These moments of interaction are an integral part of the teaching concept: they help you deepen your understanding of the material, examine specific cases and complete exercises as a group. The class sessions are generally recorded and made available to students undertaking the module.
Knowledge assessment generally takes the form of continuous assessment with work to be submitted throughout the semester and, often, an online final examination at the end of the semester (on a Saturday). Assessment types include oral exams, written exams, portfolios, oral presentations and projects. Every semester, you generally complete two modules (25 to 30 hours of work per week). The chart below gives you an idea of what happens in a semester. 2It is a generic example of a teaching scenario - a scenario document tailored to each module will be available on Moodle at the beginning of the semester.

Access all the organisational information about your modules, your learning resources (course documents, research articles, educational videos, useful links), and different activities to be completed (practical cases, quizzes etc.) at any time; submit work; and communicate with your teaching teams and other students via forums.
Distance learning does not mean learning alone!
You can ask questions, discuss or seek support at any time via the discussion forums, chats, emails or even individual meetings with your teaching teams or other students if required. The administrative teams, and in particular Student Services, are also on hand to help.
In addition, you can take advantage of regular online classes for discussion purposes.
Boost your knowledge and skills via the learning activities offered by your teaching teams (lectures, scientific document research, exercises, practical cases, quizzes, wiki, forums etc.) and benefit from regular feedback (joint or individual, in writing, verbally or via Moodle, from your teaching teams or your peers etc.).
Some of these activities are part of your continuous assessment.
Class sessions are in principle held online.
They are an integral part of the training (questions and answers, discussions with teaching teams and other students, interactive activities etc.), even if attendance is not checked. If you are unable to attend, the documents and recordings will help you work independently.
Please note: in rare cases, in-person meetings may be suggested if they are justified from a teaching perspective. You will be informed of this in advance and an alternative will always be suggested if you are unable to attend in person.
In each module, your performance is assessed through one or more continuous assessments during the semester and/or an examination at the end of the semester.
All assessments during and at the end of the semester take place 100% online and can take various forms: oral examination, quiz, written examination, research paper, video, poster, oral presentation, etc.
Written and oral final examinations are remotely proctored according to standardised procedures. This proctoring makes it possible to verify candidates’ identities and ensure fair and reliable examination conditions. It thus helps to safeguard the integrity of assessments and the credibility of the degrees awarded by UniDistance Suisse.
Your studies at UniDistance Suisse offer you lots of flexibility paired with structure to support your efforts and progress, encourage regular work and aid your learning.
You have the freedom to organise your work to suit you and fit around your personal and professional obligations, with an estimated average workload of 25 to 30 hours of work per week.
Regular deadlines help preserve your commitment and motivation, with online classes, work to be submitted, and depending on the module, final exams. All of these dates are published in advance to facilitate your planning and allow you to think ahead.
To study and participate in online examinations, you need the necessary IT equipment and a stable internet connection.
For examinations, you need:
a personal computer running a recent version of Windows or macOS. Linux and ChromeOS are not compatible with the proctoring software used at UniDistance Suisse;
administrator rights on this computer so that you can install and use the monitoring software;
a smartphone, tablet or second computer with a functioning camera, microphone and speakers for examination proctoring via Zoom;
the Zoom Desktop Client installed on this device;
a stable internet connection.
Please note: Computers provided by employers may have security restrictions that prevent SEB from being installed or functioning properly. Make sure that you have a compatible computer on which you have the necessary administrator rights.

Studies at UniDistance Suisse are designed to be completed on a part-time basis, for example alongside a job. If you wish to enroll in extra modules, you can submit a request to , contingent upon achieving excellent results by the conclusion of the second semester.
Classes are held about once a month.
Exams take place at the end of the semester, and continuous testing takes place throughout the semester.
You will find the timetable of the sessions at least 6 months before the beginning of the semester on the pages of the different courses.
No, it is not, but attendance is strongly encouraged: classes are an integral part of the pedagogical scenario set up in our courses. They allow for in-depth study of the subject matter, the study of concrete cases and interactive exercises.
There is no set rule: everyone must find the ideal system based on their life and private and professional obligations. It's crucial to have good organization to successfully balance everything, and this also requires the support of your personal and professional circles. It's important to be well aware of your individual resources to find a balance among all these aspects and successfully complete your studies.
On average, we estimate that students should allow 20 to 30 hours per week.
In reality, this depends on the student's prior academic background, their ease of learning, the topics covered in the modules, the semester period (more hours may be needed for revision before exams), and the activities within the modules, etc. It's important to be aware of these factors so that you can make adjustments to your weekly timetable.
At UniDistance Suisse, a Bachelor's degree takes 9 months to complete, and a Master can take 5 to 6 semesters, depending on which programme. You have some level of flexibility: normally, students take two modules per semester, but it is always possible to take just one or to take a one-semester break if need be.
You do not need such a permit because you are not required to be a resident in Switzerland to study with us. Your nationality plays no role in your admission. Only the formal criteria outlined in the Admission Regulations are considered.
