This project aims to investigate whether the human brain is equipped to implement health recommendations within today’s obesogenic environment dominated by pervasive cues for highly palatable foods and sedentary behaviors.

Unhealthy diet and sedentariness are widely recognized as significant contributors to the rise of chronic diseases, while healthy diet and physical activity are well-established promoters of physical and mental health. However, despite widespread awareness of health risks and recommendations, a significant portion of the population still fails to implement diet and physical behaviors guidelines. This project addresses the question of whether the human brain is equipped to implement such health recommendations in our current obesogenic environment where cues for highly palatable food and opportunities for sedentary behaviors are pervasive.
