• UniDistance Suisse

UniDistance Suisse is strengthening its European engagement. The European Commission has awarded the institution the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE), an important recognition of its commitment to high-quality international mobility and academic cooperation. This accreditation paves the way for future participation in the Erasmus+ programme, subject to Switzerland’s association with the programme.

Une reconnaissance européenne pour UniDistance Suisse

The European Commission has officially awarded UniDistance Suisse the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE). This accreditation establishes a quality framework for higher education institutions wishing to participate in the Erasmus+ programme. It is based on key principles such as transparency, equal opportunities, inclusion and quality in the organisation of international mobility and cooperation activities. By obtaining this charter, UniDistance Suisse reaffirms its commitment to developing partnerships with European institutions and fostering exchanges within the international academic community.

A key step in the internationalisation strategy

The award of the ECHE Charter is fully aligned with UniDistance Suisse’s internationalisation strategy, which aims, among other things, to strengthen academic and scientific cooperation beyond national borders. Participation in European programmes offers opportunities to establish new partnerships, encourage the exchange of knowledge and best practices, and further integrate UniDistance Suisse into European higher education networks. This development also contributes to the institution’s international visibility and strengthens its position within the European higher education landscape.

Erasmus+: New opportunities from 2027

The Erasmus+ programme supports mobility and cooperation in the fields of education, training, youth and sport. In higher education, it promotes exchanges between institutions as well as mobility opportunities for students, academic staff and administrative staff. Obtaining the ECHE Charter is an essential prerequisite for participating in the programme’s activities.

Decision on Switzerland’s participation still pending

The Swiss federal authorities are expected to decide on Switzerland’s association with Erasmus+ in December 2026. Subject to approval, UniDistance Suisse will be able to participate fully in the programme from 2027 onwards. This would open up new opportunities for mobility and collaboration with European higher education institutions, while further strengthening academic exchange and UniDistance Suisse’s international connections.

Strengthening European connections

The award of the Erasmus Charter marks another milestone in UniDistance Suisse’s international development. It also reflects the institution’s commitment to playing an active role in the European Higher Education Area and contributing to an open, collaborative and forward-looking academic community.
