Dr Mariela Mihaylova has successfully completed her doctoral thesis – as the first PhD candidate at UniDistance Suisse within the framework of a collaboration with the University of Geneva, which awarded her the academic degree.

The doctoral project was supervised by Prof. Dr Nicolas Rothen (UniDistance Suisse) and Prof. Dr Matthias Kliegel (University of Geneva), and highlights UniDistance Suisse’s commitment to supporting early-career researchers at the university level – a key step on the path towards establishing the «University of Valais».

In her dissertation , Dr Mariela Mihaylova investigates learning strategies aimed at enhancing memory performance in digital contexts, as well as approaches to mitigating stress-related impairments, such as exam anxiety. Her work makes a fundamental contribution to the evidence-based design of digital learning environments.

The successful completion of Mariela Mihaylova’s doctorate, in collaboration with the University of Geneva, underlines the high quality of research at UniDistance Suisse.
