Dr Victoria Abrahamyan

Victoria Abrahamyan has held a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Geneva, Maison de l’Histoire, and visiting fellowships at the London School of Economics (January–June 2025) and Aix-Marseille University (October–December 2025). She received her PhD, summa cum laude, in Contemporary History from the University of Neuchâtel in 2023. Her dissertation was awarded the Outstanding Dissertation Award by the Society for Armenian Studies (SAS) in 2024 at Harvard. Her research focuses on global and trans-imperial history, refugees, borders and mobility in the modern Middle East and Europe, with particular attention to the aftermath of the First World War. Her work has appeared in leading academic journals and edited volumes. She is the author of Armenian Refugees in French Mandate Syria: Statelessness and Nation-Building in the Middle East (Bloomsbury, 2026).
