Dr Mirela Dittrich-Dubravac is a Post-doctoral Researcher at the Faculty of Psychology. She completed her PhD in Psychology at the University of Bern in 2021, where she investigated how cognitive control develops in children and how it shapes memory. She then conducted research at Texas A&M University (USA) with an earlyPostdoc.Mobility Fellowship from the Swiss National Science Foundation, focusing on the interactions between cognition and emotion.

After returning to Switzerland in 2023, she continued her research in cognitive psychology and completed further training in machine learning. Today, she combines her expertise in memory and artificial intelligence to develop evidence-based teaching and learning tools that promote effective learning.

Research focus

My research focuses on cognitive control and memory. I study how we control our thoughts and actions, how these abilities evolve with experience, and how they shape what we remember over time.
