María Leticia Mariño von Hildebrand
PhD Student

Maria Leticia Mariño von Hildebrand is a lawyer by training, specializing in children's rights and criminal law. She holds a law degree from the Universidad de los Andes in Colombia and an interdisciplinary Master's in Children's Rights from the University of Geneva.

Her professional and academic career lies at the intersection of criminal law, children's rights, and human rights. She has international experience in legal research, children's rights advocacy, and strategic litigation on behalf of vulnerable individuals, gained with various institutions and organizations across Latin America, West Africa, and Europe. Her background combines academic research with legal practice, with a particular interest in the role of justice in the effective protection of fundamental rights.

She is a researcher in criminal law at UniDistance Suisse and a member of the editorial team of the journal Droit pénal et politique criminelle (DPPC). Her doctoral research focuses on the justice system's response to vicarious violence against children from a comparative law perspective.
