AIDE: AI-assisted decision-making in public administration: integrating trustworthy AI-driven systems in sensitive fields

The project aims to contribute to knowledge production in the specific field of AI-assisted decision-making systems in the socio-judicial field. The scope of application concerns decisions on the execution of sentences and measures in the canton of Valais. The project aims to understand the legal, ethical, and technical requirements for the development of AI-assisted systems in public administration and socio-judicial services. The project will contribute to developing empirically based knowledge that complements existing theoretical considerations on the potential and risks of AI in criminal justice practice. More generally, the outcomes contribute to the growing debate on AI and its applications in the field of social and socio-judicial services, particularly in the Swiss context.
