Nicolas Bueno est professeur assistant auprès de la faculté de droit. Il est habilité de l'Université de Zurich. Il enseigne le droit international public et européen.
Il a obtenu son doctorat en droit international public à l’Université de Lausanne (2014) et son habilitation de la Faculté de droit de l'Université de Zurich (2026). Il a effectué plusieurs séjours de recherche, notamment à Columbia Law School à New York (2012-2013, Fulbright), Université de Louvain (2016), London School of Economics (2017) et à l'Université de Zurich (2018-2021). Il a obtenu des fonds du FNS pour ses projets de recherche Global Economy and the Right to Just Conditions of Work (SNF Postdoc Mobility) et Human Economy: Rethinking Economic Human Rights in the Global Economy (SNF Ambizione). Il a également enseigné le droit international économique aux universités de Lausanne et de Zurich et le droit international à l’Università della Svizzera italiana.
Il est directeur du Centre de droit de la globalisation économique et durabilité et membre de comité éditorial du Business and Human Rights Journal. Ses recherches portent sur la responsabilité des entreprises multinationales en matière de durabilité et le droit du travail et la transition écologique. Il est et co-éditeur du livre Labour Law Utopias: Post-Growth and Post-Productive Approaches (Oxford University Press 2024). En tant que praticien, il a mené des litiges sur les droits humains au Center for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR) à Berlin (2014-2015) et a travaillé à la division des Investissements internationaux et entreprises multinationales du Secrétariat d’État à l’économie (SECO, 2018).
