Cristina Berchio is a scientific collaborator at UniDistance Suisse, Brig, Switzerland, in the Faculty of Psychology. She completed her PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Parma (Supervisor: Vittorio Gallese) and her postdoctoral training at the University of Geneva, under the supervision of Christoph Michel (2013–2019). She served as senior scientist (maître assistante) at the Faculty of Medicine in Geneva, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Unit headed by Nadia Micali (2019–2023), where she coordinated research on neuropsychological mechanisms in eating disorders. In 2023, she became Assistant Professor of Neuropsychology and Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Bari, Italy.
Her research focuses on neurocognitive and socio-emotional processes in psychiatric disorders using EEG, and on the development of EEG microstate methodologies to investigate large-scale brain networks underlying these processes.
