At its meeting on 30 January 2026, the Council of the European University Association (EUA) approved UniDistance Suisse’s admission as a full member. As the collective voice of the universities of Europe, the EUA has played a key role in building university communities across Europe for more than two decades. It contributes to building a coherent system for higher education and research, today bringing together more than 900 members and affiliated organisations.

Integration into Europe’s leading doctoral education network
Full membership in the EUA also opens the doors for UniDistance Suisse to the Council of Doctoral Education (EUA-CDE). Dedicated to doctoral education, this European network brings together more than 260 universities and institutions in 36 countries. Since its creation, the EUA-CDE has actively supported the strengthening of doctoral education in Europe, notably by encouraging the implementation of the Salzburg Principles and Recommendations and by promoting doctoral education as the main intersection between higher education and research.
