UniDistance Suisse offers fully online university degree programmes and is accredited under the Swiss Higher Education Act (HEdA). It combines flexible, location‑independent part‑time distance learning with an active, interdisciplinary research culture on its campus in Brig. Across five faculties – Law, Psychology, Economics, History, and Mathematics & Computer Science – we have been shaping modern teaching, learning and research for more than 30 years. Today, UniDistance Suisse counts over 2,700 students and around 550 staff members.

To strengthen our Communication & Marketing Service, we are seeking a dedicated and forward-thinking professional for the position of: 

Head of Communication & Marketing (80–100%)

Place of work: Brig
Start date: 1 June 2026 or by agreement

Reporting directly to the Rector, you shape and lead UniDistance Suisse’s communications and marketing activities, strategically driving their implementation with creativity, innovation, and a strong service orientation, aligned with the specific demands of an academic environment.

Your responsibilities

  • You lead UniDistance Suisse’s Communications & Marketing function, driving its strategic development.
  • In close collaboration with the Rectorate, the faculties and internal services, you plan and implement an institutional, multi channel communication strategy, with a strong focus on science communication.
  • You build and actively cultivate a strong network of relevant stakeholders (media, journalists, content creators and other stakeholders).
  • You plan and manage human and financial resources in alignment with strategic objectives, continuously monitoring and optimising outcomes.
  • Brand and programme promotion: you further develop the promotion of our educational programmes and implement various measures, including advertising campaigns, digital communication, social media and other formats.
  • Collaboration with external partners: depending on needs and project requirements, you coordinate external agencies and service providers, ensuring seamless collaboration.
  • You actively shape the evolution of our corporate identity, supporting transformation initiatives across brand strategy and visual identity. 

Your profile

  • Master's degree in communication, ideally with a specialisation in corporate communication.
  • Additional qualification: university level diploma in marketing or digital marketing.
  • Several years of proven professional experience in corporate communication – ideally in a university, higher education or scientific research environment.
  • High level of personal initiative and team spirit, excellent organisational and communication skills, a strong and confident writing style, a collaborative mindset, and a high degree of resilience.
  • Inspiring and inclusive personality with proven experience in team management.
  • Mother tongue German or French, with excellent command of the other language; good knowledge of English.
  • Knowledge of statistics as well as solid programming skills are considered an asset.
