UniDistance Suisse offers fully online university degree programmes and is accredited under the Swiss Higher Education Act (HEdA). It combines flexible, location‑independent part‑time distance learning with an active, interdisciplinary research culture on its campus in Brig. Across five faculties – Law, Psychology, Economics, History, and Mathematics & Computer Science – we have been shaping modern teaching, learning and research for more than 30 years. To strengthen and/or further develop its research competencies in educational technologies in distance learning settings, the Center for Holistic Learning Experiences (CHLX) is looking for a: 

German-speaking Research Assistant for a qualitative study (60-100 %)

Human learning is a complex process that involves diverse resources, processes, and that varies for each indi-vidual. At the Chair for Holistic Learning Experiences (CHLX), we tackle this complexity by designing, develop-ing, and evaluating holistic and effective learning experiences.  In this specific project, you will conduct a qualitative study to understand how secondary school students and university students use Generative AI to learn mathematics.

Your responsibilities

  • Organize recruitment of participants in secondary school and university (networks are provided)

  • Conduct interviews with 12 participants, in German, following a pre-defined study protocol

  • Analyze qualitative data, including interviews and chatbot conversations

  • Write a report of the study. This may lead to a scientific publication on which you would be a co-author.

Your profile

  • Demonstrated experience with qualitative methods, in particular thematic analysis

  • Rigorous and ethical approach to work and research

  • Willingness to collaborate and exchange in a diverse team

  • Excellent command of English, German, and Swiss German.

  • Living in Switzerland
