In this talk, I will share the essential underpinnings of Self-Determination Theory, providing an overview of the various research domains explored over the past 40 years. Within the SDT Geneva Center, we are engaged in multiple research projects spanning education, organizations, work, pro-environmental behaviors, and more fundamental investigations into the rewarding aspects associated with the need for autonomy, offering both theoretical and applied perspectives. Beyond the mere exposition of our work, this meeting serves as a potential catalyst for future collaborations. It also aims to initiate discussions regarding the relevance of research on this theory within the context of the Master's program in Educational and Health Psychology, as well as in Work, Organizational, and Family Psychology at UniDistance.
Dr. Julien Chanal teaches and researches at University of Geneva. He is also a lecturer in the Bachelor of Psychology at UniDistance Suisse.
