To consolidate and develop our Faculty Services team, we are looking for an experienced and motivated personality for the position of faculty manager for the french-language bachelor’s and master’s programs in law (50%)

Based in Brig, UniDistance Suisse, an accredited university institute in accordance with the Swiss Higher Education Act (HEdA), has been offering bachelor’s and master’s degree programs and further education and training courses in the faculties of Law, Psychology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics and History for over 30 years. These programs and courses are designed to fit around family life or a professional or sporting career through a flexible, distance-learning model.

UniDistance Suisse is dedicated to the highest quality standards in teaching and research. The institute aims to obtain university status in 2027, becoming a Valais university and marking a major milestone in its history.

With over 2,400 students, UniDistance Suisse is the leading distance-learning institution in Switzerland. Almost 350 of the institute’s 450 staff members from across Switzerland and abroad are involved in teaching and research activities and are recognised experts in their respective fields.

To consolidate and develop our Faculty Services team, we are looking for an experienced and motivated personality for the position of:

Faculty Manager for the French-language bachelor’s and master’s programs in law (50%)

Place of work: Brig, with partial home-office possible

Start date: as soon as possible

As centralised service, the Faculty Services team is the interface between faculties and programs, as well as the academic and administrative support services at UniDistance Suisse. It ensures a smooth running of the faculties and provide, in collaboration with the deans and program managers, adequate support for teaching staff and research teams, while also actively contributing to the development of the faculties and their programs. Faculty Managers are specialists in their field, who are able to evolve within a university organisation and establish an effective network between the different parties.

Given the program in question, precedence will be given to applicants with an excellent command of French.
 

Your tasks:

  • Be a permanent liaison between faculty and program managers, teaching staff and research teams, and academic and administrative support services;
  • Actively assist and support the program director and the dean in the management and development of the faculty and programs, as well as implementing the decisions taken by faculties and the executive board;
  • Support teaching staff in matters related to the organisation, running, and development of study programs and services;
  • Be the main point of contact for professors and lecturers;
  • Represent the program within Faculty Services;
  • You may be required to participate in or lead cross-faculty, intra-faculty and inter-faculty projects.
     

Your profile:

  • A graduate with a master’s degree in the field of law;
  • Experience in a university environment (experience in distance learning would be an asset);
  • Experience in project management would be a plus;
  • Familiarity with standard and university-specific IT software;
  • Independent, organised and structured; committed to and motivated by continuous improvement;
  • Customer oriented, flexible and open to rapidly expanding business sectors;
  • Strong social skills and able to work as a team;
  • Flawless written and spoken French, as well as strong German and English language skills.
